  • CQ Researcher - Explores single issues in the news in depth each week ranging from political, social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology.
  • Modern Genocide (ABC-CLIO) -  Includes sources spanning past and present genocides including memoirs, narratives, and other primary source material in addition to general historical information.
  • National Geographic Virtual Library (Gale) -  Includes access to all issues of National Geographic from 1888 to the present, People, Animals, and the World database access, and National Geographic for Kids.
  • Newspaper Articles (EBSCO) - Allows you to search for full text newspaper and magazine articles.

Looking for poetry? Check out these resources.
  • PoetryArchive.org- an archive of poets reading their own work accompanied by the written text. Contains lesser known English-writing poets and is searchable by theme, poet, or poem.
  • PoetryFoundation.org-includes established and classic poets. By clicking into “poems and poets” and browsing poems, you will be able to search by theme, or browse by poet type.
  • FamousPoetsandPoems.com-an eclectic mix of poetry, both modern and classic. You can find a list of the top 50 poems, famous quotes by poets, or search thematically.
  • Poets.org-searchable by poet or poem. Includes featured thematic lists such as “love poems” and “black history month.”
