Country Research

Try these databases:

CultureGrams - Choose the world edition. Articles contain maps, facts, cultural information, history, and just about everything you need! You can drill down to your topic using the map or the drop down list in the upper left hand side. Citations can be generated using the gear link at the bottom of the page.

World Geography ABC-CLIO - Country overviews will be the best bet to get the information you need, so be sure to select it in your search results. The main page, called "Country Profile," contains the citation information at the bottom of the page for any of the parts of the article you click through using the menu on the left hand side.

Gale Virtual Reference Library (Ebooks) - These are books, just in a digital format. Choose the "View Text" option from the search results. If you find an article you like, citation information is at the bottom of it. Use the "Source Citation" information, NOT the DOCUMENT URL.

Try these Websites:

BBC History Use the search box in the upper right of the page. Enter the name of your country. The country profile (usually one of the top three search results) will provide basic facts such as population statistics, language, etc as well as historical information (in the timeline tab). Other articles will offer information on culture in the country.

CIA World Factbook - Use the drop down menu in the middle of the page, on the right and select your assigned country. You will find many basic facts about the country including a map with the location of the country, as well as economic and religious information.
